Welcome to the "sudden school" of QiGong. With no disrespect intended towards the many masters of QiGong or anyone else, this practice is inspired by the "sudden school" of enlightenment preached by Hui Neng, the sixth patriarch of Chan, or Zen, Buddhism. Much like the Buddha-nature of man or woman, I believe that QiGong abilities are potentially accessible by everyone. Years of training may certainly help, but they may also get in the way. Knowing is much more important than learning, as our "higher selves," including our connection to the cosmic consciousness or "Spirit" (or whatever you call that force in the universe which is greater than us), already know what we need to know if we are just able to listen. Many people experience this type of ability and call it by different names. To me, all forms of energy work could be thought to be under the umbrella of QiGong.
